The artist behind Lionée

Art has been instilled in my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family and I would fill mason jars with water from Lake Charlevoix and spend the day painting in my grandparents pole barn. Even at a young age, I was always determined to finish my latest projects before the end of the night…some things never change!

After six years in Florida, I returned to Michigan with a renewed appreciation for the memories that first inspired me. I found myself painting the places, people, traditions, and little moments that felt like home.

That eventually became the heart of Lionée: Tell Your Story on Canvas.

These pieces hold a special place in my heart because they capture the memories we want to cherish and see in our homes every day. A favorite summer at the lake. The family cottage. The people who mean the most. The details that might otherwise live only in our memories or photo albums (the physical ones!).

And alongside the storytelling work is the beauty of live illustration. I create because I enjoy capturing the memory of everyone involved in the story. The feeling of a celebration and details that make a day uniquely yours.

Whether I’m painting a lifetime of memories onto one canvas or capturing a moment as it unfolds, my work is about the same thing:
